Professor John Fraser

Professor John Fraser has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Professor John is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer at De Motu Cordis, a Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Company. Professor John is also a Co-Founder of BiVACOR Pty Ltd. Additionally, they serve as the Co-Creator and Lead at ICU Of The Future.

In terms of their previous roles, Professor Fraser has served as the Director of Intensive Care and Director of the Intensive Care Unit at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital. Professor John has also been the Director of the Critical Care Research Group, where they led a multi-disciplinary team involved in various medical disciplines.

Furthermore, Professor Fraser has held positions as the President of Asia Pacific ELSO and Co-Chair of the Queensland Cardiovascular Research Network. Professor John has also been involved with Quantum Innovation Fund Management as its Founder and Chief Medical Officer.

Throughout their career, Professor John Fraser has made significant contributions to the medical field, particularly in critical care and emergency medicine.

Professor John Fraser received their education at several institutions. Professor John began their academic journey at St Aloysius College, where they attended from 1981 to 1986. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a bachelor's degree in medicine (MBChB) at the University of Glasgow from 1986 to 1991.

After obtaining their MBChB, Professor Fraser continued to advance their medical knowledge and skills. Professor John earned a diploma in anaesthetics from The Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1996. Two years later, in 1998, they became a fellow of the Faculty of Anaesthetists Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFARCSI) and a fellow of The Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA).

In 1997, Professor Fraser became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Professor John further expanded their expertise by becoming a fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FFICANZCA) in 2000. In 2002, they achieved the designation of fellow of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and Royal Australian College of Physicians (FJFICM).

In 2010, Professor Fraser obtained a fellowship from the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM), earning the title of Fellow (FCICM). In 2016, they attained fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCP).

Lastly, in 2008, Professor Fraser embarked on an academic journey at The University of Queensland, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of Medicine, which concluded in 2010.
