Brian Maurer has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Brian started their career in 2012 as an Aviation Maintenance Officer for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 465 in the United States Marine Corps. Brian organized and supervised the maintenance, readiness, and repair of helicopters, managing a large maintenance workforce. In 2013, they served as the Executive Officer of the same squadron, responsible for supporting operations and training with a significant budget and personnel.

In 2014, Brian became a Graduate Student at Marine Corps University, acquiring further education and knowledge. Brian then joined USCENTCOM in 2015 as a Government and Military Exercise Planner, leading efforts to coordinate civilian and military exercises with Gulf Cooperation Council member nations.

In 2018, Brian transitioned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One "Marine One" (HMX-1) as a Pilot in the Executive Flight Detachment, serving in this role until 2022. Brian recently joined Black Bear Technology Solutions, LLC as an Exercise Operations Planner.

Brian Maurer has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida. Their field of study during their undergraduate studies is unspecified. In 2014 and 2015, they attended Marine Corps University and obtained a Master's degree in Military Operational Art and Science/Studies. In 2016, they joined the National Council on US and Arab Relations, where they are pursuing The Malone Fellowship in Arab and Islamic Studies.

Furthermore, Brian holds additional certifications. In February 2022, they obtained the ITIL Foundation Level certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Brian acquired the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) certification from MAWTS-1 in May 2007. Additionally, they obtained the Commercial Aircraft Pilot certification for both Fixed & Rotary Wing from the Federal Aviation Administration in October 2002.
