Marcelo Vianna de Lima, MD, MBA, GFMD has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Marcelo is currently serving as the Medical Director for Latin America at Blau Farmacêutica since March 2017. Prior to this, they held the role of Director of Scientific Affairs at the Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine from January 2016 to December 2021. From 2016 to 2017, Marcelo was a Partner, Physician, and Senior Consultant at MaxCor Medical Services. Marcelo also worked as a Medical & Clinical Research Director for Latin America at Amgen from August 2013 to February 2016. Before that, they served as the Medical Director for Latin America at GE Healthcare from August 2009 to August 2013. Marcelo has also worked as a Senior Consultant on Pharmaceutical Medicine and held various other roles in the consultancy and pharmaceutical industry, including roles at Consultancy in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, Self-Employed Consultancy, Apotex Inc., and Discovery Laboratories Inc.

Marcelo Vianna de Lima, MD, MBA, GFMD started their education by completing their elementary school at Liceu Eduardo Prado from 1972 to 1974. Marcelo then attended Colegio Bandeirantes where they completed their high school education from 1975 to 1977. Marcelo went on to pursue their medical education at the Medical School of Santo Amaro (University of Santo Amaro) from 1981 to 1983, earning the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD). Marcelo further expanded their medical knowledge by attending Faculdade de Medicina de Petropolis from 1978 to 1980, where they obtained the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Moving towards a different field, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas from 2002 to 2003. Marcelo then pursued a specialization in Pharmaceutical Medicine at Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo from 1999 to 2000. Further enhancing their business acumen, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas from 2008 to 2009, specializing in Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, they completed a Cardiology program at Hospital Unicor from 1984 to 1986.
