JT Houk

JT Houk has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. JT is currently working as a Technical Lead Engineer at BLAZE, where they lead a team of almost a dozen and has successfully implemented various software projects and initiatives. Prior to this, they held the position of a Senior Software Engineer at BLAZE, contributing to the development of software solutions using AWS CDK, Node.js, MySQL, Typescript, and React.

Before joining BLAZE, JT worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Coderbunker, where they built full-stack applications for individual and enterprise clients. JT also delivered cloud-based architectures and devops solutions on AWS, reducing infrastructure cost and maintenance.

JT's experience also includes co-founding Akkadu, a live stream interpretation platform. As the Co-Founder and Senior Software Engineer, they managed a team, refactored the platform, and implemented various strategies to improve site speed and reduce costs. Additionally, they co-founded and served as the Director of Operations at Vue Beijing, organizing Vue.js events with a large number of participants.

Earlier in their career, JT worked as a Web Developer at zentone and Kubi Insight, where they created web applications using technologies such as Node.js, PostgreSQL, Bootstrap, and Handlebars templating.

JT Houk graduated from Old Dominion University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In 2015, they achieved a TEFL certification from BridgeTEFL. Later, in 2018, they obtained a Node Certification from Udemy. Most recently, in December 2021, JT obtained an International Academic Qualification from World Education Services.
