Dimitry Maltsev has over 25 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Dimitry is currently the VP of Systems Engineering at Block Engineering, where they have been working since 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant at Block Engineering from 2019 to 2021.

Before joining Block Engineering, Dimitry worked at AESEES Consulting as the Managing Director and Consultant since 2013. Dimitry'srole involved providing comprehensive solutions to clients by designing system architecture, software, board level hardware, FPGA, DSP, and algorithms.

From 2012 to 2014, Dimitry worked as a Consultant at Active Precision. Here, they focused on embedded control systems development based on ARM SoC/FPGA hardware, drivers, and Linux software for ultra-precision motion and electro-mechanical systems.

Dimitry also served as the Consulting Technical Director at IDEX America, Inc. from 2014 to 2018.

Prior to their role at IDEX America, Inc., they were the Director of Technology Development at GSI Group (Novanta) from 2002 to 2012. In this position, they led a multi-disciplinary engineering team that designed and supported various product lines, including the successful M55x product line.

Other notable roles in their career include Principal Engineer at Photonex, Inc. from 2000 to 2002, Principal Software Engineer at Nexabit Networks (acquired by Lucent Technologies) in 1999, FPGA Firmware Consultant at Steptech in 1999, Principal Engineer at LTX Corp. from 1997 to 1999, and Principal Engineer at General Scanning LSD from 1995 to 1997.

Throughout their career, Dimitry has gained experience in hardware and FPGA development, Unix/Solaris and embedded VxWorks software, servo control, algorithms, and MATLAB simulation and optimization of multivariable control systems.

Dimitry Maltsev started their education in 1979 at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) where they pursued a degree in Physics, EE. Dimitry completed their MSEE in 1985. Following this, they continued their education at the same institution from 1985 to 1988, undertaking a PhD Study in the Institute of General Physics with a focus on Nonlinear Laser Spectroscopy.
