Advocacy Manager at Blue Ventures

Tom Collinson is an experienced professional in marine advocacy and research, currently serving as Advocacy Manager at Blue Ventures since July 2021, having previously held the position of Senior Advocacy Officer within the same organization. Prior to this, Tom pursued graduate studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, earning a Master's degree in Coastal Science and Policy from 2019 to 2021, and worked as a Graduate Student at the university from September 2019 to January 2022. Initial experiences include roles as a Global LMMA database intern and a Sims Movement Ecology Lab intern at the Marine Biological Association of the UK. Tom's extensive field experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation, an Oyster Farmer at Lismore and Seil Sound Oyster Company, and contributing to wildlife education as a Wildlife Guide and Deck Hand with Argyll Sea Tours. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Bristol.
