J.R. Bullington

J.R. Bullington has extensive work experience in the field of DevOps and technology management. J.R. is currently working at Blue Sentry Cloud as a DevOps Team Lead, a position they started in January 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior DevOps Engineer at the same company from July 2022 to January 2023.

Before joining Blue Sentry Cloud, J.R. worked at Covenant Eyes from October 2019 to July 2022. During their time there, they held various roles, including DevOps Engineer V, DevOps Engineer IV, DevOps Engineer III, and Database Administrator. In these roles, they were involved in implementing DevSecOps practices, utilizing Ansible for server configurations, and introducing Kubernetes within the organization.

From 2016 to 2019, J.R. worked at InsideOut Design & Development as the Manager of Technology and Application Development Lead. In this role, they were responsible for software application development and maintenance, as well as server maintenance for both Linux and Windows environments.

Prior to that, J.R. worked at Open Dealer Exchange, LLC from 2011 to 2016, initially as an Application Architect and later as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. In these roles, they focused on ensuring code security and optimizing database configurations across a variety of platforms.

From 2012 to 2015, J.R. returned to InsideOut Design & Development as the Manager of Technology, where they continued to oversee software application development and server maintenance.

Other work experiences in J.R.'s career include roles at Newland Medical Associates as an Information Technology Coordinator, Logicorps as an Application Developer, William Beaumont Hospital as a Systems Coordinator, UMDNJ as a Webmaster, and The Cancer Institute of New Jersey as a Webmaster and Primary Technical Assistant.

Throughout their career, J.R. Bullington has gained expertise in a wide range of technologies and tools, including Linux, Windows, Ansible, Kubernetes, AWS services, HAProxy, Nginx, NodeJS, and various database platforms.

J.R. Bullington has a diverse education history in the field of information technology. J.R. began their education journey by attending the University of Florida from 1996 to 1998, where they focused on Information Technology and Bioinformatics. Following that, they pursued an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Computer Science at Santa Fe College from 1998 to 1999.

In 2004, J.R. Bullington enrolled at Rutgers University, studying Information Technology for two years until 2006. Subsequently, they attended Oakland University in 2008 and 2009, where they focused on Information Technology, although they did not obtain a degree.

In 2015, J.R. Bullington pursued a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at Central Michigan University.

In addition to their formal education, J.R. Bullington has attained various certifications. In 1999, they became an A+ Hardware Technician certified by CompTIA. J.R. then obtained their Certified MySQL Associate certification from MySQL/Sun Microsystems in 2008.

In recent years, J.R. Bullington has obtained multiple certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS). J.R. became an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in June 2022, followed by an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in September 2022. Additionally, they achieved certifications as an AWS Certified Developer - Associate in March 2023, an AWS Certified Database - Specialty in January 2023, and an AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate in April 2023.
