Jane Hilderman

Vice President Public Affairs and Partnerships at Blueprint

Jane Hilderman has a diverse and extensive work experience that spans over a decade. Their most recent role is as the Vice President of Public Affairs and Partnerships at Blueprint, starting in February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of ClimateWest from May 2020 to February 2022.

From 2011 to 2019, Jane held various positions at The Samara Centre for Democracy, including Executive Director, Acting Director and Research Manager, and Researcher. As the Executive Director, they were responsible for leadership, governance, fundraising, and public relations. Jane also played a key role in strategic planning, overseeing board operations, fundraising, and finances. During their time as Acting Director, they maintained their responsibilities as Research Manager and provided organizational leadership and strategic direction.

In 2011, Jane was a Public Affairs Intern at the U.S. Department of State, where they worked on programming public diplomacy activities and streamlined administrative processes for the Public Affairs' granting program.

Jane also served as a Parliamentary Intern through the Parliamentary Internship Programme de Stage Parlementaire from September 2010 to April 2011. During this time, they worked in the offices of two Members of Parliament, building relationships, providing briefing and communication materials, and conducting constituency outreach.

Jane's work experience also includes being a Project Coordinator for the Changing Times Research Project at the Ontario Nonprofit Network. During their time there, they conducted research, designed, and administered an Ontario-wide survey among charities and nonprofits on social enterprise.

Additionally, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at St. Michael's College, University of Toronto, where they collaborated with a professor to modernize and expand the reading and resource list for a 3rd-year undergraduate course.

In 2009, Jane was a Policy Analyst at the Ministry of the Attorney General, where they conducted research and generated a preliminary report on a greening strategy for the ministry's accommodations portfolio.

Throughout their work experience, Jane has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, research, and organizational skills. Jane has also been actively involved in public affairs, partnerships, and fundraising activities.

Jane Hilderman obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Political Studies from Queen's University, which they completed between 2004 and 2008. Following this, they pursued their Master of Public Policy degree at the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2010. Their field of study during their graduate degree was focused on Public Policy, specifically within the areas of social, health, and economic policy.
