Senior Scientist Msat- Automation Platform Lead at BlueRock Therapeutics

David Hsan-Jan Yen has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research and development. David Hsan-Jan began their career as an Undergraduate Research Program Student at the University of Arizona in 1998 and later became a Research Assistant level I. In 2005, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Iowa.

In 2008, David joined the National Defence Medical Center as a Post-doctoral research fellow, where they conducted a study on TB drug-induced hepatotoxicity. David Hsan-Jan collected over 300 blood samples and medical records and identified genetic risk factors for elevated GOP and GTP during TB treatment.

From 2010 to 2016, David worked at the Corning Research Center Taiwan as a Research Scientist. In this role, they led projects in nucleic acid purification reagent kit development and hESC differentiation research. David Hsan-Jan successfully developed alpha-test phase purification kits and improved the efficiency of beta-cell differentiation.

David then worked as a Research Officer at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute from 2016 to 2018. David Hsan-Jan focused on kidney development and differentiation from hESC and iPSC, successfully scaling up kidney organoid suspension culture and publishing their work in Nature Methods.

Since 2018, David has been employed at BlueRock Therapeutics. David Hsan-Jan initially held the position of Senior Scientist, Process Development and later transitioned to the role of Senior Scientist MSAT- Automation Platform Lead in October 2019.

David Hsan-Jan Yen has a Ph.D in Genetics from the University of Iowa, which was obtained in 2007. Prior to that, they earned a B.S in Microbiology and Chemistry from the University of Arizona in 1999. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in various subjects such as goal setting, strategic thinking, and leadership and management skills from LinkedIn, with the most recent certification obtained in May 2021.
