James (Joe) Akin

James (Joe) Akin is an experienced professional who currently holds the position of Executive Director Business Development at BlueSphere Bio. Previously, James (Joe) co-founded ReFigure and served as the COO. With a background in immunology and materials science, James has worked in various roles in the pharmaceutical and research industries, including at Novartis Oncology and Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. James (Joe) also has experience as a Postdoctoral Scholar, Graduate Student at Harvard University, and as a Scientist/Engineer in the United States Air Force. James is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
