Denis Höfler

Process Research at Boehringer Ingelheim

Denis Höfler is currently engaged in Process Research at Boehringer Ingelheim since February 2022. Previously, Denis served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck from June 2019 to February 2022, focusing on the total synthesis of natural products and securing a Marie-Curie fellowship. Prior to that, Denis worked as a Scientific Advisor to the President at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, facilitating strategic cooperations in applied research. Experience also includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, where Denis researched C–H acids for catalysis and planned a start-up in organocatalysis. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in organocatalysis from the Max Planck Society, an MSc in Biochemistry, and a BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Early academic pursuits involved research internships and thesis work focusing on various aspects of organic synthesis and protein design at prestigious institutions including the University of California, Berkeley and University of Washington.
