Joshua Heslin

Joshua Heslin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Joshua began their career as a Contract Administrator Assistant at ADCO Constructions in 2012. Joshua then worked as a Metal Fabricator at Shower Grate Shop from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, they also had roles as a UQ Engineering Tutor at The University of Queensland and as a Workshop Assistant at Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort.

In 2014, Joshua joined Rio Tinto as a Vacation Student, where they gained experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically in slope stability analysis of open pit mines. Joshua later became a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer at Rio Tinto, where they worked on drilling, exploration, and the collection of geotechnical data.

From 2016 to 2019, Joshua worked at KAS - Keyless Access Security as a Solutions Architect and Software Engineer. In this role, they focused on developing electronic lock solutions and worked on product development, solution designs, and support.

In 2019, Joshua transitioned to Enablo, where they initially worked as a Full Stack Software Engineer. Joshua later became a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer and led the engineering team in solution development, design, and deployment. Joshua also guided the team in developing cloud-native applications securely and in line with ISO27001 certification.

Joshua joined Swyftx in 2021 as a Senior Software Engineer and was later promoted to Technical Lead. In this role, they managed a team of developers and was responsible for delivering core functionality to the platform.

Since 2021, Joshua has also been working at Cloutly as the Head of Technology. Joshua oversees technology-related matters in the company.

In 2023, Joshua will be joining Bondaval as a Senior Software Engineer.

Joshua Heslin has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering from The University of Queensland, which they attained from 2010 to 2014. In 2013, they participated in the Summer Conference on Mining Technologies at the China University of Mining and Technology. Prior to their university education, Joshua attended AB Patterson College from 2002 to 2010, where they completed their high school education.

In addition to their formal education, Joshua Heslin has obtained several certifications. In June 2020, they earned the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C02) certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Joshua also holds the Swift Level 2 - Xcode coding language certification from the Cambridge Certification Authority, obtained in June 2017. More recently, in March 2022, Joshua obtained the certification in Distributed Data Patterns for Microservices from microservices.io.
