Fields Jackson, Jr has a diverse work experience that spans across various organizations and positions. Fields is currently serving as the CEO, Chief Cheerleader & Talent Scout at Racing Toward Diversity Magazine since September 2008, where they focus on showcasing diversity efforts and initiatives. In 2014, they became the President of College Diversity Network, which helps organizations enhance diversity by bringing in diverse candidates for entry-level positions. Additionally, Fields Jackson, Jr holds the role of Chief Diversity Officer at Bonfire Engineering & Construction, Inc. starting from August 2022, where they oversee diversity and talent acquisition strategies. Fields has also worked as a Professor and Adjunct Professor at various universities such as South Carolina State University, Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge, Shaw University, and Bethune-Cookman University. Furthermore, Fields Jackson, Jr served as the Executive Director of the HBCU Business Deans Roundtable from 2017 to 2021.

Fields Jackson, Jr began their education at Allegheny College in 1975, where they pursued a BA degree in Economics and Philosophy. Fields studied there until 1980. Following a gap of several years, they went on to attend Northern Illinois University from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained an MBA degree in Business/Commerce, General.
