Michael Straus

Director of Innovation Engineering at Boom Sports

Michael Straus has over 15 years of experience in the audio and gaming industry. In 2022, they began their role as Adjunct Faculty (Sound Design for Games) at The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. From 2021 to 2013, they worked at Boom Entertainment, first as Director of Innovation Engineering and then as Prototype Engineer/ Sound Lead. From 2013 to 2009, they were employed at High 5 Games, first as Game Innovation Designer/Unity Lead and then as Senior Sound Engineer. From 2009 to 2007, they worked at Dale Pro Audio as Product and Technical Specialist and Pro Sales & Marketing. From 2007 to 2006, they were Pro Parts Sales at Dale Pro Audio. In 2006, they were Music Assistant at 4Kids Entertainment. Finally, in 2005, they were Recording Engineer at Metrosonic.

Michael Straus received their Bachelor's of Arts in Music Production and Technology from the University of Hartford in 2003. Michael then went on to earn their Masters of Music Technology from New York University between 2005 and 2007.
