Tim McIntyre-Bhatty

Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Bournemouth University

Professor Tim McIntyre-Bhatty joined BU in 2011. He has held senior positions in universities for over fifteen years and has previously held the roles of Assistant Vice-Chancellor and Dean.

He leads our annual strategic planning processes and his portfolio includes responsibility for the academic Faculties, and the Bournemouth University International College, alongside quality, academic services and admissions, programme management, strategic risk and business intelligence.

Professor McIntyre-Bhatty recently completed 6 years of service as a member of the board of the UK Quality Assurance Agency and for the Advisory Committee for Degree Awarding Powers. He is a Fellow of the Strategic Planning Society and a member of the British Computer Society.

During his career, Professor McIntyre-Bhatty has contributed to the leadership and development of a range of knowledge transfer, consultancy and income generation projects. He served as regional editor for the journal Chinese Management Studies and has previously been closely engaged in research concerning the match of graduate skills and employer needs in regional labour markets.

His track record extends to successful collaborations at both national and international levels with partners across Europe and in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Professor McIntyre-Bhatty arrived at BU from the University of Wales, Newport where he was Assistant Vice-Chancellor and Dean. At Newport, Professor McIntyre-Bhatty played a leading role in the creation of the £41 million flagship City Campus.

Previously he led the move of the East London Business School to a £28 million development at Docklands Campus and he is now sponsoring 4 new academic buildings at BU totalling greater than £100m of investment.
