Alex Knapp has a diverse work experience in government relations and advocacy. They started their career as a Government Relations Coordinator at Boys & Girls Clubs of America in September 2016 and later became a Government Relations Specialist from September 2019 to April 2020. In April 2020, they were promoted to the role of Manager, Government Relations and Advocacy, where they provided project coordination and strategic communications within the government relations department. Most recently, Alex held the position of Director, Policy and Advocacy at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, starting in May 2021. Prior to their work at BGCA, Alex worked as an Office Fellow at Running Start: Bringing Young Women to Politics, where they assisted in office work, event organization, communications, and research. They also gained experience as a Government Relations Intern at O'Neill and Associates, where they conducted research, reported on committee hearings and legislative sessions, and communicated with legislators' offices.

Alex Knapp attended Tufts University from 2012 to 2016. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations, with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
