FORM CARPENTER
A Form Carpenter utilizes blueprints to determine proper dimensions, shapes, and designs of form structures. The form carpenter uses precise measurements to cut and assemble 2x material, plywood or steel/aluminum modular panels to the necessary size required to form footings, walls, or slab edges. Symons forms and gang forming experience a plus
Primary Responsibilities
Construct, erect, install concrete forms
Measure and mark lines on forms to the proper grade
Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level or transit
Install blockouts, embedded angles, plates, bolts, and other anchors to formwork
Understand, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, sketches, or building plans
Provide a comprehensive list of forming materials and hardware required for the task at hand
Job Requirements
Consistent dependability (must have good attendance)
Reliable transportation for travel up to 75 miles to job site
Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance
Stamina to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, climb and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
Experience with Symons/steel/aluminum concrete forming systems
Experience placing and stripping forms as mentioned above
Carry own tools (tool belt, hammer, square, level, chalk line, pry bar, etc)
Control mixer trucks, pace, and correct concrete quantities
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Required experience
Concrete Form Carpentry: 1 year
Required education
High school diploma (GED)
Required license or certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (will train)
