Heather Griffin

Regional Director of Clinical Services at Breakthrough Behavior

Dr. Heather Griffin earned her doctorate of educational leadership from the University of North Florida, completing her dissertation on, “The Importance of Collaboration Between Parents and School in Special Education: Perceptions from the Field.” She continues to focus heavily on parent participation in the care and advocacy of their children. In addition, Dr. Griffin assigns high priority on mentoring and providing high-quality experiences to up-and-coming behavior analysts. Dr. Griffin also earned her master’s degree in applied behavior analysis (ABA) from Florida State University. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the field and has practiced across a variety of settings including public and private schools, family and group homes, day programs, clinics, and other community settings. Prior to Breakthrough Behavior, Dr. Griffin served as president of the First Coast Association for Behavior Analysis (Jacksonville, Florida) and is an active advocate for the delivery of high-quality ABA services in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. She is also the author of the book, “Beyond Coursework: A Handbook for Beginning a Career in Applied Behavior Analysis.” Dr. Griffin is married to Greg, an avid competitive sailor, and they have two active boys--McGregor and Gunnison. If not at home, you’ll find Dr. Griffin traveling the country, exploring national and state parks, and engaging in activities on the water.
