Denise McCabe

Denise McCabe has a comprehensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Denise currently holds the position of Optum Rx Compliance Officer at Optum, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Bright Health as the VP, Chief Compliance Officer from 2022 onwards. In this role, they successfully restructured and advanced the compliance team while collaborating with business partners on operational areas, issue resolution, and risk management strategies.

Before joining Bright Health, Denise worked at Prime Therapeutics, where they held multiple roles. Denise was the Sr. Director of Compliance from 2015 to 2022, overseeing multiple lines of business and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory adherence. Denise also served as the Director of Compliance from 2013 to 2015, where they focused on ensuring compliance with state rules and requirements.

Prior to Prime Therapeutics, Denise worked at ClearStone Solutions, an affiliate of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, as the Director of Operations from 2010 to 2013. In this role, they directed operations and vendor oversight for MA/Part D Plans, ensuring compliance with CMS requirements and BCBS Association guidelines.

Denise began their career at BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota in 2006 as a Medicare Program Manager. Denise managed multiple Medicare employer group products, overseeing contract administration, vendor performance, and various operational aspects. Denise later accepted a promotion to lead and oversee the operational aspects of the Regional MA Plan.

Before joining BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, they worked at UnitedHealth Group - Ovations as a Medicare Compliance Manager from 2004 to 2006. In this role, they led a team of Compliance Administrators, auditing internal functional areas and external delegates for compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

Throughout their career, Denise has demonstrated expertise in compliance, risk management, team leadership, and collaboration with business partners.

Denise McCabe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business from 2004 to 2008.
