Smita Bharel

Smita Bharel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in research IT and application development, currently serving as Director of Early Research Data at Bristol Myers Squibb since January 2016. In this role, Smita oversees the integration of high-quality data to enhance drug discovery processes. Previously, leadership positions included Director of Small Molecule Drug Discovery in R&ED Digital Delivery and Associate Director of Solution Architecture & Delivery, where strategic technical roadmaps and project oversight were key responsibilities. Prior engagements at IDT Corporation involved directing application development teams and managing software engineering efforts, while earlier roles included software development and architectural responsibilities at MedAvante, Software Services International, and AKS Software Limited.
