Leah Mates has extensive experience in fundraising and marketing roles. Leah is currently the Director of Marketing, Mass Fundraising & Engagement at the British Heart Foundation, where they lead a team responsible for brand development, fundraising strategies, customer data analysis, and MarTech stack strategy. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Marketing Strategy and Planning and Director of Fundraising Excellence and Innovation at the same organization. In these positions, they led strategic planning, fundraising portfolio management, and fundraising compliance functions. Before joining the British Heart Foundation, Leah worked at Breast Cancer Now, where they held roles such as Innovation Catalyst and Community Engagement Manager, leading initiatives to drive income growth and improve fundraising products. Leah also gained experience at Kids Company and Historic Royal Palaces.
Leah Mates attended The Grey Coat Hospital from 1996 to 2003. Leah then went on to study at UCL from 2003 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
