Rebecca Winthrop's work experience includes serving as a Senior Fellow and Director for the Center for Universal Education at The Brookings Institution since 2009. Rebecca previously worked at the International Rescue Committee as a Senior Technical Advisor for Education from 2001 to 2009, where they managed education programs in 20 countries and developed agency education policies. Before that, they were a Researcher at the United Nations Development Fund for Women in 2000, where they researched communication strategies and evaluated project proposals promoting women's rights. Their earlier experience includes serving as an Education Coordinator at the Citizens Advice Bureau in 1999.
Rebecca Winthrop's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with Distinction in Political Science and Dance Politics from Swarthmore College, where they concentrated in Public Policy. Rebecca attended Swarthmore College from 1992 to 1996. Rebecca then pursued a Master of International Affairs (MIA) at Columbia University from 1999 to 2001.
