Silvia Merler

Silvia Merler serves as the Head of ESG and Policy Research at Algebris Investments, where responsibilities include integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors into investment processes and developing sustainable finance research. Additionally, Silvia holds the position of Non-Resident Fellow at Bruegel, focusing on European economic policy and sustainable finance. As an Adjunct Lecturer at The Johns Hopkins University - SAIS, Silvia teaches a course on the Economics of Global Markets. Previous roles include Affiliate Fellow at Bruegel, Economic Analyst at the European Commission, and various research positions across several institutions. Silvia earned a Ph.D. in European Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS and holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Università Bocconi.
