The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a junior Solicitor or experienced Legal Executive to join our Property team led by partners Daniel Kelleher, Tom Bennett, and Paula Ormandy.  Our property team is involved in a range of work including acquisitions and divestments, portfolio leasing, construction, build and lease matters, property development, real estate finance, local government and public works, insolvency and workout, and rental arbitrations and disputes.

How you will support the team

In this role, each day will be different, but these are some of the things that you will be involved in to a high-level:

  • Facilitating acquisitions and dispositions of property
  • Assisting with leasing portfolios including drafting leases, deeds of rent review, variations and renewals
  • Drafting special conditions for sale and purchase agreements
  • Reviewing certificates of title, LIM reports and attending to due diligence for corporate and banking and finance transactions
  • Drafting letters of authority and LINZ instruments for e-dealing registrations
  • Assisting clients directly with instructions or queries

  • 2+ years' experience as a Solicitor or 5+ years' experience as a Legal Executive

  • Experience working in a commercial property team

  • Excellent computer skills with a sound understanding of legal systems and process (e.g. Landonline, PPSR)

  • Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain a customer service focus when interacting with clients and colleagues

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
