Trust & Security Engineer, EMEA at Bugcrowd

Tariq Ahmed has held various roles throughout their work experience. Tariq started their career as a Junior Client Engineer at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in 2000. Tariq then moved on to work as an Assistant Credit Control at the University of West London in 2001. After that, they worked as an Assistant Systems Administrator at LEGATO SYSTEMS LIMITED from 2002 to 2003, where they were responsible for network administration and desktop support. Tariq also managed an EMEA helpdesk and maintained servers and telephony systems. Following this, they joined Thames Valley Police as an Area IT Systems Co-ordinator in 2004, where they provided desktop support, mail administration, and data backup/recovery. From 2007 to 2012, they worked at Barco as a Technical Support Engineer, handling pre and post-sales support for medical imaging hardware and software. Tariq then joined EIZO UK as a Product Specialist from 2012 to 2015, providing support for display products across various market segments. After that, they worked as a Sales Engineer - API at Autodata Group in 2015, promoting technical solutions and supporting the sales team. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Technical Optimisation Consultant at Travelport, building technical relationships with clients and maximizing customer efficiency. From 2017 to 2020, they served as an Information Security Program Analyst at COFENSE, managing aspects of the PhishMe program and delivering customized solutions to clients. Currently, they are employed at Bugcrowd as a Trust & Security Engineer, EMEA, where they assist customers with technical knowledge of the Bugcrowd platform and designs solutions to meet customer requirements.

Tariq Ahmed attended Brunel University London from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Systems. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications throughout their career, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in August 2022, the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in November 2021, and the CNSS Certified Network Security Specialist from the International CyberSecurity Institute (ICSI) in June 2020. Other certifications include the Unix Badge and Introduction Badge from PentesterLab in June and May 2020 respectively, the Security+ certification from CompTIA in September 2018, and the Legato Certified Networker Administrator certification from QA Testing in January 2002. Furthermore, they have completed various courses and trainings on topics such as working with upset customers, developing self-awareness, time management while working from home, Excel 2016 conditional formatting, cybersecurity awareness, GDPR compliance, business writing principles, writing a compelling blog post, public speaking foundations, and preventing workplace harassment, among others.
