Decota Letman

Director, Strategic Partnerships at BUILD

Decota Letman is the current Director of Strategic Partnerships at BUILD. Prior to this, they were a Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) Graduate Fellow at the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation from August 2017 to May 2018. In this role, they helped coordinate the 7th Annual BWR Women of Power Summit and assisted with editing and drafting various press materials, including press releases and the 5th Annual Black Women’s Roundtable Report. Decota also provided general administrative support, including email correspondence, weekly conference calls, meeting notes, and research.

From August 2016 to May 2017, Decota was a Graduate Assistant at the Ronald W. Walters Leadership & Public Policy Center. In this role, they provided administrative support to the center’s director and research staff, assisted with event planning and logistics, and conducted research on a variety of topics related to leadership and public policy.

Decota began their career as a Graduate Assistant for the Mandela Washington Fellowship from June 2016 to August 2016. In this role, they assisted with programmatic and administrative tasks for the Fellowship’s 500 participants.

Decota Letman has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from The City College of New York. Decota also has a Master of Arts in Political Science and Government from Howard University.

Decota Letman reports to Chymeka Olfonse, Regional Executive Director, NYC. They work with Pamela Minetti - Director, Philanthropy, Jazmin Moreno - Entrepreneurship Program Manager, and Jenelle Bazil-Charles - Community Engagement Manager.
