Adriana Marquez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Adriana began their career in 2004 with a winter internship at the Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo. Adriana then worked as an advisor in the Dirección de Evaluación de Políticas Públicas at the Departamento Nacional de Planeación, where they coordinated evaluations and provided support for various programs. Adriana also served as an advisor for the Ministerio de Educación Nacional, assisting in the design and monitoring of performance indicators.

In 2008, they joined the Universidad de los Andes - Colombia as a Coordinator of Special Projects at the Centro de Estudios sobre Desarrollo Económico (CEDE). During their tenure, they focused on fundraising, editorial coordination, and implementing a dissemination strategy for the CEDE. Adriana later moved back to the Departamento Nacional de Planeación as a consultant in the Dirección de Desarrollo Social, where they contributed to the monitoring and evaluation of policies.

Continuing their work in the public sector, Adriana held positions at Prosperidad Social, where they served as the Coordinator of Technical Studies in the Dirección de Ingreso Social, overseeing pilot programs aimed at improving nutrition, disability support, sexual and reproductive health, and the prevention of child labor in mines.

In 2020, they joined the Secretaria Distrital de Desarrollo Económico as the Director of Economic Development Studies, responsible for providing analysis and insights on economic development initiatives.

Most recently, Adriana Marquez is working at Building Markets as the Research and Impact Director. Their responsibilities include managing research projects and assessing the organization's impact.
