Emma Schurmeier

Emma Schurmeier is an Associate Attorney at Burns White LLC, specializing in health care and long-term care law since Fall 2023, following a part-time Law Clerk role during their third year of law school. Schurmeier began as a Summer Associate with the same practice group, focusing on drafting pleadings, legal research, and trial preparation. Previously served as a Dean’s Scholar at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, assisting in Civil Procedure, and as a Legal Research Fellow, contributing to scholarly work on virtual representation. Additional experience includes roles at The Beasley Firm, Lowenthal & Abrams, SeniorLAW Center, and North Carolina Governor's Office, alongside a background in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Emma Schurmeier earned a Juris Doctor from Drexel University in May 2023.
