Robert Nyaga, PhD has extensive work experience in qualitative research, behavioral design, and academia. Robert currently serves as the Technical Director of Qualitative Research & Design at Busara, where they lead a team of specialists in applying behavioral research and design approaches. Robert also provides thought leadership in behavioral and qualitative research through presentations and engagements with clients and funders. Prior to this, they held the position of Behavioral Design & Qualitative Research Lead at Busara, where they led a team in combining qualitative research approaches with insights from behavioral science. Before joining Busara, Robert worked as a Qualitative Research Specialist at the same company, conducting research consultancy for corporate organizations and promoting the uptake of qualitative research. Robert's academic background includes serving as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Purdue University, where they conducted interdisciplinary cancer prevention research and taught as an instructor. Robert also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Illinois State University, focusing on social media analytics and research projects. Additionally, they have experience as a Company Secretary at Grant Thornton Kenya and as an Intern at Kenyatta National Hospital, where they conducted media monitoring, offered customer care services, and managed social media platforms. Robert Nyaga, PhD has a diverse education history that spans over several years. Robert completed their doctoral studies at Purdue University from 2016 to 2020, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Health Communication. Robert completed certifications in Conduct UX Research and Test Early Concepts, Build Wireframes and Low-Fidelity Prototypes, UX Design Process: Empathize, Define, and Ideate, and Foundations of UX Design, all from Google. Furthermore, they obtained a Behavioral Economics Bootcamp Certificate from Irrational Labs.
