Emily Gladstone has a diverse background in data science and analysis. Emily started their career as a Customer Assistant at Marks and Spencer from October 2016 to June 2018. Emily then worked briefly as a Records Assistant at Leeds City Council in September 2018.

In November 2018, Emily joined Newcastle University as a Maths Ambassador until August 2021. During this time, they also worked as a Coding Assistant on a 3-day course, where they co-designed lecture notes and gained proficiency in Python.

In 2020, Emily joined Peak as a Data Science Intern from August to October. Emily then became a Data Scientist from November 2020 to September 2021, where they used machine learning techniques and presented insight reports using R Markdown to help customers gain insights for their businesses.

Currently, Emily works at Butternut Box, starting in September 2021 as a Digital Product Analyst. In January 2023, they became the first data scientist hire for the company and successfully established and proved the viability of a data science function in under 3 months. Emily built a Data Mart for Data Science, providing a holistic view of customers in various areas of the company.

Emily Gladstone completed their undergraduate studies at Newcastle University from 2018 to 2021, where they obtained a degree in Mathematics with a focus on Mathematics and Statistics. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree at the University of York from 2022 to 2024, specializing in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence in the field of Computer and Data Science.
