CQC is expanding operations and is looking for a Payroll Manager to be based in Kenya. The Payroll and Benefits Manager will implement and oversee country specific and international pay process.

Key Objectives

Payroll management

  • Develop and execute payroll procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Manage application and deployment of payroll systems.
  • Track and process payroll changes (onboarding, offboarding, salary updates etc.).
  • Develop and report on metrics, queries for ongoing company and legal requirements.
  • Develop country specific payroll calendars.
  • Ensure legal compliance of payroll processes in accordance with applicable laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required.
  • Support team members in all regions as their go-to resource for navigating all things payroll.
  • Supports staff with any payroll inquiries and issues.

Benefits Management

  • Develop and maintain benefits strategy and related plans to ensure competitiveness and support of staff needs.
  • Track and implement benefits changes (enrollment, offboarding, changes, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with local requirements and expectations in benefits offering.
  • Address employee questions and concerns regarding benefits plans and eligibility

 HR Operations

  • Collect and manage applicable employee data.

  • Support HR reporting.

  • Manage HR process tracking (Asana).

Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing payroll and benefits in a multi-country and multi state environment, for a global workforce.

  • Expert knowledge of international and domestic payroll tax and social security/ pension landscapes, and payroll regulatory compliance environment.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in managing benefits at a global scale.

  • Knowledge of employment contract, compensation, performance and bonus practices, and country specific employment laws.

  • Expert at management and deployment of payroll systems and relevant software tools.

  • Experience identifying and delivering process and service improvements.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources or relevant degree required, Master’s Degree is a plus.

  • Experience working in global organizations required.

  • Experience in climate change mitigation, renewable energy, environment, or with sustainable development organization preferred.

  • Very good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Able to clearly and concisely articulate payroll and compliance communications when interacting with a wide range of stakeholders across various levels and teams across CQC global offices.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Supervision: the position will report to Chief Transformation Officer.

Travel: The expected travel is minimal.
