Aviad Aharonov

Director of Software Development at C2i Genomics

Aviad Aharonov's work experience includes roles at C2i Genomics, where they currently serve as the Director of Software Development, and at the Israeli Navy C4I Division, where they worked from 2000 to 2021. At the Israeli Navy C4I Division, they served as a Software R&D Manager, System Engineering Group Manager, Integration Team Lead, Integration Engineer, and Software Engineer. As Software R&D Manager, they led, mentored and managed a group of diverse, multi-disciplined teams, with up to 40 software developers (while managing managers), in an Agile/Scrum framework. Aviad also led the Israeli Navy's R&D in three of the most major development programs, some of which had a need in deploying and maintaining in a 24/7 production environment. As System Engineering Group Manager, they led, mentored, and managed a group of system engineers and the QA team, and was responsible for writing the system requirements documents of multidisciplinary platforms and leading the SRRs (System Requirements Reviews). As Integration Team Lead, they managed a staff of 7 developers and engineers who were responsible for integrating the maritime C4I system and developing utilities for that purpose. Aviad also led the migration of the C4I System from Unix OS to Linux, and initiated the development of automation capabilities that improved the reliability of the systems and shortened the integration times. As Integration Engineer, they were responsible for the software integration of the maritime C4I system – a highly distributed, multidisciplinary, large-scale system. Aviad also worked closely with team leaders to solve complex technical issues involving software modules, and accompanied the operational user for debugging and troubleshooting the system in the production environment. Finally, they also served as a Software Engineer.

Aviad Aharonov obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Information and Knowledge Management from the University of Haifa in 2014. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Engineering from Lev Academic Center in 2000.
