Job description

The Managing Director of the Advisory and Strategic Initiatives department will advise clients through mergers and acquisitions, and strategic solutions that complement their vision. The Managing Director is responsible for driving business development by networking, with the goal of converting prospects to clients. The Managing Director will oversee and execute transactions to ensure all deliverables are met appropriately and in a timely manner. The Managing Director must have an entrepreneurial and metrics driven mindset, focusing on the various goals of the department thereby delivering measurable revenue results. The Managing Director will oversee the workload of the Advisory and Strategic Initiatives department and will act as a mentor for the staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, managing financial and business due diligence assistance for companies, and private equity or debt investors
  • Engage in business development activities by marketing services to both external clients and internal partners, developing client networks, and supporting efforts in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies
  • Networking with prospects to build revenue producing relationships
  • Analyze client’s data to identify historical and projected financial and operating trends, review quality of earnings, assess working capital considerations, and potential liabilities and risks to assist and guide decision-makers in transactions
  • Review transaction documents, providing insights to clients for negotiations
  • Identify pre- and post-close business opportunities and enhance go-to market strategies
  • Committed to satisfying internal and external customers
  • The individual will be assigned to work 100% in the office
  • All other duties as assigned

Management & Decision Making Responsibilities

  • Manage efforts of the team providing guidance with an apprenticeship approach
  • Direct the due diligence meetings, and draft and review tailored due diligence reports specific to key issues
  • Manage and coordinate the approach of clients throughout the entire transaction process
  • Perform as the lead professional on engagements and serving as a principal contact for managing client deliverables, overseeing engagement colleagues, and providing real time feedback and guidance to client and diligence providers to ensure timely and efficient product delivery
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and the negotiation of contracts and other agreements
