Bruno Grande, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience in the field of neuroscience and bioinformatics. Bruno is currently employed as a Software Engineer II at Cajal Neuroscience, a role that began in July 2023. Prior to this, Bruno worked at Sage Bionetworks from August 2020 to June 2023, where they held two positions. As a Senior Research Software Engineer, they developed a Python framework for assessing the quality of user-contributed data and re-engineered a Python package for data orchestration operations. In their role as a Bioinformatics Engineer, they worked on various projects involving bioinformatics analysis.

Before joining Sage Bionetworks, Bruno spent several years at Simon Fraser University, where they held multiple positions. As a Postdoctoral Researcher from January 2020 to August 2020, they conducted research in the field of genomics and bioinformatics. Bruno also worked as a Research Programming Consultant from September 2017 to August 2020, providing technical expertise and support for research projects. Bruno completed their doctoral research from September 2013 to December 2019 and also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Introductory Genomics and Bioinformatics from January 2018 to April 2018.

Bruno Grande, PhD, completed their education in the field of computational biology. Bruno began their academic journey in 2008 at Vanier College, where they pursued a Natural Sciences International Baccalaureate Diploma, completing it in 2010. Bruno then went on to enroll at McGill University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry (Honours) from 2010 to 2013. Building upon their undergraduate education, Grande pursued further specialization in computational biology and enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at Simon Fraser University from 2013 to 2019.
