Lead, Human Interface at Cake DeFi

Aen Tan has a diverse and extensive work experience in various design and leadership roles. Aen started their career as a Director of Design at LifeOpp, where they collaborated on a gig worker schedule management platform. They then moved on to work as a Head of Design at 6degrees app before transitioning to AngelRound, where they served as a Unicorn designer and single-handedly designed the brand, digital assets, and web user interface for a crowdfunding site.

Afterwards, Aen worked at Aenism, taking on the role of a Unicorn designer, where they managed various digital products for clients in different industries. Aen also contributed to the development of NextID, an identity management startup, as a Founding Member & Advisor, leading the creative and product experience.

In subsequent roles, Aen worked as a Senior Product Designer at Zynesis, designing a central bank digital currency system for the Bahamas, and as a Design Lead at MyDoc | Simplify Healthcare, driving product innovation and enhancing user and customer experience in the healthcare industry.

Aen then joined Practera as a Unicorn designer, where they focused on bringing design thinking into educational technology. At adplist.org, Aen worked as a Design Mentor, sharing their expertise and guidance with others in the field.

Currently, Aen is working at Cake DeFi, first as a Product Designer and then transitioning to a Design Lead where they grew a team to support their design efforts. Aen eventually became the Head of Design at Cake DeFi and established a fully tokenized design system across various platforms. They currently lead the Human Interface team, focusing on UI and interaction design while driving the company's design standards and inclusivity efforts.

Aen Tan attended St. Andrew's School, where they pursued a degree in "Teenage Rebel." They focused on subjects such as truancy, hair color, piercings, teenage crimes, premarital sex, and basketball. Additionally, Aen Tan obtained various certifications and completed courses in different fields. In 2019, they completed the "Introduction to Software Product Management," "Software Processes and Agile Practice," "Client Needs and Software Requirements," "Reviews & Metrics for Software Improvements," "Agile Planning for Software Products," and "Software Product Management Capstone" courses through Coursera. Furthermore, in 2020, they obtained a certificate in "PS101: Introduction to Privacy-preserving Secure Data Computation & Analytics" from Nanyang Technological University. Aen Tan also completed the "Fundamentals of digital marketing" course offered by Google Digital Garage in 2020. In 2021, they obtained a certificate in "DesignOps: Scaling UX Design and User Research" from Nielsen Norman Group. In 2022, Aen Tan achieved multiple certifications related to decentralized finance (DeFi), including "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Deep Dive," "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Opportunities and Risks," "Decentralized Finance (DeFi): The Future of Finance Specialization," "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Infrastructure," and "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Primitives," all from Duke University. They also obtained a certificate in "Analyzing blockchain projects to minimize investment risk" from web3academy and a "Google Play Store Listing Certificate" from Google.
