David Novakovic

David Novakovic has extensive work experience in various roles and industries.

David started their career as a Co-Founder at Bendaware Pty Ltd in 2009, where they worked until 2016. In 2013, they became the CTO & Co-Founder of scrunch, where they focused on data science, marketing engineering, and user analytics. David worked at scrunch until 2017.

David then joined LiteracyPlanet as a Consulting Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of functional Scala codebase and provided technical advisory on various technologies. David worked in this role until 2017.

In the same year, they served as an Interim CTO at Veriluma and later became the CTO at Cake Equity.

In 2019, David joined LiteracyPlanet again, this time as a Principal Engineer. David worked in this role until 2020.

In 2020, they joined Linktree as a Staff Engineer and worked until 2021.

From 2017 to 2022, David was the Organizer of the Gold Coast Blockchain Meetup, where they managed events and live streams.

In 2022, they joined Foresight Group Inc. as the Head of Data & Platforms, focusing on aligning their commercial insurance business with their workplace safety product. David worked in this role until 2023.

Currently, David Novakovic is working as a Senior Engineering Manager at CalcTree.

David Novakovic has a strong educational background in the field of IT and computational linguistics. David obtained a Masters in IT (research) with a focus on Computational Linguistics from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) between 2007 and 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of IT degree at Griffith University in 2004. David's educational journey began at Somerset College, where they earned a High School Matriculation, completing their secondary education between 1994 and 1999.

In addition to their formal education, David has also obtained several certifications. David earned the Functional Program Design in Scala certification from Coursera in June 2017. In October 2016, they obtained the Functional Programming Principles in Scala certification, also from Coursera Course Certificates. Furthermore, David obtained the MCSE certification from Microsoft in April 2007.
