Leigh Anne Frye has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Leigh Anne started their career in 2000 as an Exceptional Children's Teacher at Caldwell County Schools and worked in this role until 2006. In 2006, they joined Appalachian State University as an NC Principal Fellow/Internship. After completing their internship, they returned to Caldwell County Schools in 2008 and served as an Assistant Principal at Hibriten High School until 2012. Following that, they were appointed as the School Principal at Lower Creek Elementary and held this position until 2019. From 2019 to 2023, they served as the High School Education Director at Caldwell County Schools. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Research at Caldwell County Schools.

Leigh Anne Frye completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education K-12 from Appalachian State University between 1997 and 2000. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in School Administration at the same university from 2006 to 2008. During their Master's program, they were also a North Carolina Principal Fellow.
