Gina Skurka Darin

Senior Environmental Scientist (supervisory) at California Department of Water Resources

Gina Skurka Darin is a seasoned environmental scientist with extensive experience in both supervisory and technical roles. Currently serving as a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) at the California Department of Water Resources since July 2009, Gina oversees environmental staff within the State Water Project Mitigation and Restoration Branch and chairs the California Interagency Noxious and Invasive Plant Committee. In addition to this role, Gina has volunteered with the California Invasive Plant Council since September 2004, holding various leadership positions, including Vice President of the Steering Committee. Other professional experiences include volunteering at the Greyhound Adoption Center, serving as adjunct faculty at Saint Leo University, and undertaking botanical surveys as an on-call botanist for ICF International. Gina holds an M.S. in Horticulture and Agronomy from the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. in Marine Science from Eckerd College.
