Joe Barr

Joe Barr has a diverse and extensive work experience in the journalism and communications industry. Joe currently serves as the Director of Communications at the California Hospital Association since 2023. Before that, from 2022 to 2023, they worked as a Content and Operations Consultant at Central Valley and Napa Valley Journalism Collaboratives.

Joe'sprevious role was with CapRadio, where they worked from 2015 to 2022. At CapRadio, they held the position of Chief Content Officer and was responsible for leading content creation and distribution on all platforms. Joe played a major role in expanding the station's News Department and developed CapRadio's statewide news service, the Capital Public Radio Network.

Joe Barr's career in journalism began in 1994 when they worked as a Reporter/Host for the Division of Public Service, KJZZ, KBACH, SPOT127, Sun Sounds, Hear Arizona until 1997. Joe then joined Westwood One as a Senior Producer from 1997 to 2001. After that, they worked with Capital Public Radio in various roles, including Deputy News Director, News Director, and Director of News and Information, from 2001 to 2015.
