Steven Lam

Steven Lam currently serves as the Dean of the School of Art at the California Institute of the Arts since September 2022. Previously, Steven held the position of Associate Vice President of Research and Dean of Graduate Studies at Emily Carr University of Art and Design from September 2018 to August 2023. Prior to that, Steven was the Director of the School of Art+Design and an Associate Professor at Purchase College from August 2013 to August 2023. Steven also served as the Associate Dean of the School of Art at The Cooper Union from December 2008 to July 2013 and as an Art History instructor at the School of Visual Arts from 2007 to May 2012. Steven holds an M.F.A. in Art from UC Irvine, has completed graduate studies in Art at the University of Houston, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Art History from Trinity University.
