Georgia Christopoulou

Research Scientist at Cambridge Quantum Computing

Georgia Christopoulou is a Research Scientist at Cambridge Quantum Computing since 2021. Prior to this, they were a PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant at UCL from 2017-2021. From 2015-2017, they were a Postgraduate Researcher at Morgan Advanced Materials, where they collaborated with the R&D team to improve the performance of industrial materials, performed statistical analysis using experimental data, and delivered technical reports and presentations for industrial partners. Additionally, they were a Postgraduate Researcher at LKAB Minerals from 2017-2021, where they analyzed waste minerals by employing XRD, XRF, and SEM techniques and suggested new approaches to deal with waste minerals. Finally, from 2012-2015, they were a Research Assistant at the Royal Meteorologic Institute.

Georgia Christopoulou has a diverse educational background. Georgia completed their high school studies at the 1st High School of Paralia, Patras in 2007. Georgia then went on to earn their Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Patras in 2012. From 2015 to 2017, they obtained their Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Materials Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University. Most recently, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Virtual Computation Physical Chemistry from UCL in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Georgia has also obtained several certifications. In 2021, they completed the 2021 Qiskit Global Summer school on Quantum Machine Learning at IBM. In 2020, they obtained certifications in Python for Everybody Specialization, Using Databases with Python, Capstone: Retrieving, Processing, and Visualizing Data with Python, Python Data Structures, and Using Python to Access Web Data from Coursera.
