Abbey Arrunategui

Abbey Arrunategui is an experienced professional in compensation management, currently serving as Director of Executive Compensation at Canada Life since January 2018, after previously holding the role of Manager, Global Compensation. Abbey oversees compensation programs for global business units within Great-West Lifeco, leading complex year-end compensation review cycles across various geographies. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Executive Compensation Consultant, where analysis and creative solutions for executive compensation programs were provided, and Compensation Consultant, focusing on data management and job evaluation. Prior to Canada Life, Abbey worked at Korn Ferry Hay Group as Associate Consultant and Analyst, recommending human resources programs and providing analytical support on reward design. Early career includes a role as Compensation Analyst Summer Student at TMX Group. Abbey holds a Master of Industrial Relations in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology, both from Queen's University.
