John Gonzalez

John Gonzalez is currently the VP of Product Management at Candid, but they have held many other important positions throughout their career. John was the Director of Engineering and Site Reliability at Internet Archive from July 2014 to March 2019. In this position, they managed a team of 30 individuals responsible for the technology stack, which included PostGres, ElasticSearch, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and KVM virtualization hosts. John also oversaw the consolidation of three major data centers to two while growing data storage from 20 to over 120 petabytes.

One of John's passions is making 6-million books available and accessible to people with disabilities. John has been instrumental in the digitization of knowledge (web pages, books/texts, audio, software, TV, video) and archival storage and access to all things digital. Their work has had a profound impact on millions of people around the world.

John Gonzalez has a MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BSEE from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. John has experience in marketing, technology management, and small business.
