Brendan Helleman has extensive work experience spanning over several years. Brendan currently works at Canopius Group as a Cyber Incident Management Team Leader since December 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Case Manager in the Privacy and Data Policy Team at Meta (via Magnit) from September 2021 to October 2022.

Brendan also has a background in the British Army, where they held various roles. From May 2019 to September 2021, they served as a Global Criminal and Policy Compliance Investigations Team Leader, leading a team of investigators deployed worldwide. Brendan was also responsible for promoting best practices in investigative interviewing. Prior to that, from December 2016 to May 2019, Brendan was the Special Investigations Branch Regional Investigations Team Manager, overseeing criminal and compliance investigations across multiple counties.

Before their military career, Brendan worked as a Special Investigations Branch Military Police Coroners Investigator from April 2011 to December 2012, handling investigations of service personnel deaths and allegations of impropriety. Brendan also served as an Investigator/Investigations Manager for the Special Investigations Branch from April 2006 to April 2011, dealing with Serious and Complex Criminal Activity. Earlier in their career, Brendan was a Royal Military Police Team Member, focusing on volume crime in Germany and security duties in Northern Ireland.

Prior to their military service, Brendan gained experience in the retail industry as a Retail Store Manager at Dixons Retail from January 1995 to January 1999. In this role, they managed a sales-driven retail outlet and was responsible for managing a sales force, stock control, and introducing new technologies to customers.

Throughout their diverse work history, Brendan has demonstrated leadership, investigative skills, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking.

Brendan Helleman's education history begins in 2016 when they attended the University of Sunderland and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Investigation, completing their studies in 2017.

Brendan has also obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In 2007, they earned a certification as a Crime Scene Investigator from the UK Ministry of Defence. In 2013, they achieved the Edexcel BTEC Level 4 Certificate of Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector from BTEC and the Serious and Complex Suspect Interviewer certification from the College of Policing. In 2014, they obtained the Covert Law Enforcement Manager certification from the College of Policing. In 2015, they became an Advanced Suspect Interviewer through Hampshire Constabulary.

In 2017, Brendan obtained the Management of Serious and Complex Investigations certification from the Metropolitan Police. Later, in 2021, they completed the Introduction to Cyber Security course offered by The Open University. In 2023, they achieved the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification from (ISC)².

Lastly, Brendan Helleman also completed various professional certifications including the Clandestine Burials, Mass Fatality and Terrorist Incidents certification from The Forensic Science Society, and the Level 6 Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute. It is worth mentioning that they have an incomplete date for the European Computer Driving Licence Level 2 certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
