Catastrophe Risk Analyst at Canopius

Janice Ng has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries. Janice currently works as a Catastrophe Risk Analyst at Canopius Group, starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were a Research Intern at the University of Sydney in 2020, where they studied mortality data from typhoons in the Philippines and analyzed trends for disaster risk reduction. Janice also conducted research as a Research Intern at Soap Cycling Singapore in 2020, focusing on cleanliness and hygiene conditions in migrant worker dormitories during the COVID-19 pandemic. Janice also has experience as a Student Research Assistant at Nanyang Technological University in 2020, where they worked on alternative methods of data collection for building taxonomy in natural disaster risk assessment. Additionally, they participated in a fieldwork course at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in 2018, and worked as an Administrative Assistant at Anglo-Chinese Junior College from 2016 to 2017, where they handled administrative and financial tasks.

Janice Ng completed their GCE A Levels at Anglo-Chinese Junior College from 2015 to 2016. Janice then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Environmental and Earth Systems Science, with a field of study in Society and the Earth Systems, at Nanyang Technological University Singapore from 2017 to 2021. In 2019, Janice participated in a Study Abroad Programme at King's College London and also attended a Summer Studies Programme at UCLA during the same year.
