Laura Makara

Laura Makara is an experienced professional in both education and music performance. Currently serving as an Engagement Coach at ACCEL Schools since October 2022, Laura oversees educational interventions to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Laura has been Principal Horn with the Ashland Symphony Orchestra since 2019 and maintains a private music instruction practice, demonstrating a commitment to music education since 2012. Additional roles include substitute horn positions with Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, and Second Horn with both CityMusic Cleveland and Greenville Symphony Orchestra. Laura also held an administrative role at Aurora School of Music, coordinating faculty and student interactions. Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from The University of Akron, alongside two master’s degrees: one in Music Performance from Youngstown State University and an MBA with a focus on Human Resources Management from Tiffin University.
