Luigi Tortola

Luigi Tortola, PhD, currently serves as a Scientific Project Manager at the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale since December 2022, focusing on clinical research within the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland. With extensive experience as a Lecturer at ETH Zürich since October 2015, Luigi teaches advanced immunology and cytometry. Previous roles include Scientific Director of the Flow Cytometry Core Facility, overseeing high-dimensional flow cytometry developments, and Senior Scientist leading research on adaptive immunity and tumor immunology. Luigi also worked as a Scientific Officer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, managing Swiss National Science Foundation grant applications, and as a Postdoctoral fellow at IMBA in Vienna, focusing on cancer biology. Luigi earned a PhD in Immunology and a Master's Degree in Biochemistry from ETH Zürich, and also has teaching experience from Liceo Cantonale Lugano 1.
