Mahdi Akhzary

Mahdi Akhzary is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Engineering Team Lead for the Mobile Platform at Canva since April 2023. Previously, Mahdi held the position of Staff Software Engineer for iOS at DoorDash from November 2021 to February 2023, and was the Head of Engineering at Workyard, where Mahdi played a crucial role in scaling the company from inception to multiple revenue streams while expanding the engineering team. Mahdi's prior experience includes serving as CTO and Full Stack iOS Engineer at Nudge Group, where Mahdi developed a real-time social network, and as a Full Stack iOS Engineer at Built.Digital. Mahdi also worked as a Freelance Developer, creating various iOS applications, and conducted research on video surveillance systems. Mahdi founded SWR Robotics, a robotics research group that notably participated in RoboCup competitions. Mahdi holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UNSW, completed in 2016.
