Lawrentina D'Souza

Lawrentina D'Souza has a diverse work experience. Lawrentina is currently working as a Product Marketing Manager at CapIntel, a company that focuses on making the sales process more manageable and productive for investment sales professionals and enterprises. Prior to this, Lawrentina worked as a Copyeditor at LD Edits, where they provided editing, formatting, research, and feedback services for cover letters, resumes, pitch decks, and websites. Lawrentina also has experience as a Pet Sitter at LD Rover, where they provided dog walking, drop-in, and pet sitting services for KW pet owners.

Lawrentina's previous roles include working as a Product Manager at Samos Insurance from May 2021 to March 2023. Lawrentina also worked as the GreenHouse Design & Innovation Coordinator at the University of Waterloo - United College from January 2021 to August 2021. Lawrentina has extensive experience working at the University of Waterloo in various roles such as Biology Teaching Assistant, Science Ambassador, Residence Advisor, Chemistry Teaching Assistant, Science Orientation Leader, and Research Assistant from 2016 to 2020.

Additionally, Lawrentina has entrepreneurial experience as the Co-Founder & CEO of moxHealth, where they worked from May 2020 to August 2020. Lawrentina also worked as a Product Development & Regulatory Affairs Coordinator, Product Development Coordinator, and Business Development & Sales Assistant at Kenota Health from 2019 to 2020.

Lawrentina has also established their own platform called RecoverNGo, which focuses on at-home COVID-19 recovery management and tracking. Lawrentina worked as the Founder of RecoverNGo from April 2020 to June 2020. Lastly, they have experience as an After Hours Support at Waterloo Co-operative Residence Inc. from May 2019 to August 2019.

Lawrentina D'Souza began their education at St. Francis Xavier Secondary School, where they obtained an Ontario Diploma from 2011 to 2015. Lawrentina then pursued higher education at the University of Waterloo from 2015 to 2021, earning an Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc) degree in Biotechnology & Business, with a minor in Economics and a Research Co-op Certificate.

In addition to their formal education, Lawrentina has obtained various certifications. In 2017, they completed several safety-related training programs at the University of Waterloo, including Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Training, Biosafety Training, General Laboratory Safety Training, Laser Training, More Feet on The Ground (Mental Health Training), Supervisor Safety Awareness Training, and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training. Lawrentina also completed Biomedical Research Ethics training through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative in April 2017.

Furthermore, Lawrentina has acquired multiple certifications from the Public Health Agency of Canada | Agence de la santé publique du Canada. These certifications include CL2 Operational Practices, Decontamination in the Lab, General Safety for Containment, Introduction to Biosafety, Introduction to Toxins, Microbiology Overview, Personal Protective Equipment, and Lab Acquired Infections. These certifications were obtained in May 2019.

More recently, Lawrentina completed various certifications related to product design, prototyping, testing, and market fit at the University of Maryland - A. James Clark School of Engineering in January 2023.
