Matt Jones

Matt Jones is a seasoned sustainability professional currently serving as the Chief Impact Officer at UNEP-WCMC since August 2010, where focus is on delivering positive outcomes for both people and the planet. Jones has held multiple leadership roles within the Business and Biodiversity Programme, including Head of Nature Economy and Deputy Head of Programme, and is involved in initiatives like the Proteus Partnership to enhance biodiversity data accessibility. Additionally, Jones co-chairs the Business and Biodiversity Assessment for IPBES, serves on the board of Mistra BIOPATH, and is an advisory panel member for the Capitals Coalition. Prior to UNEP-WCMC, experience includes consultancy roles at Arthur D. Little and independent consulting for Fauna & Flora International, with a strong emphasis on sustainability strategy and corporate responsibility across various industries. Educational background includes an MPhil and BA in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge.
